LINKS▹▹
Lee Seung Gi and Jasper Liu will be teaming up for a variety show produced by Netflix. I’ve been wondering when Jasper will start to really break into the Korean market. He’s been studying the language for a while and has said numerous times that he was interested in doing things in Korea. He has a fairly good fanbase there, and has started to briefly doing things such as collaborate with designers and even appeared on Return of Superman.
In honor of Eva being out on Netflix, I thought some news was worthy. They are releasing 10 minutes of new film footage at select anime expos, starting first with Expo Japan in Paris.
-BTS
Last week I talked a little bit about the Australian program that featured BTS. This is a good read in response to that.
Good article on the new wave of Asian American authors who are writing much anticipated YA novels. I have most of these books on my to be read list, and am excited to see articles highlighting these voices.
Netflix announced in a recent press release that they will be releasing a couple of new jdramas. The Naked Director will be the first one released at the beginning of August. I’ve said it multiple times, I love jdramas and have always felt the struggle of finding good shows with legal subs. I hope Netflix continues to pick up as much jdrama content as the can, it is severely lacking.
Utada Hikaru’s “Laughter in the Dark Tour 2018” tour and documentary is now streaming on Netflix. I’ve been a fan of her since I was in high school (as probably other 90’s kids who were into anime), and it’s really cool to be able to see this on such an accessible platform.
Jeaonghwa from the girl group EXID is in talks to sign with J WIDE. I talked about how all the members did not renew at Banana Culture, and I know that Jeonghwa was looking to get more into acting.
Sehun and Chanyeol (EXO) will be forming a new sub-unit EXO-SC which will release their first mini album in July.

-Yorushika is always giving me good new music
And to plug our podcast, we released a reaction video to the 1st episode of Boys Over Flowers. This took me a long time to edit, so I’d love if you gave it a chance:
