weekly roundup // 10.27.19
Happy Sunday! A lot more music news than most posts in this one. I feel like my life has been taken over by kpop and haven’t focused on any dramas, but the month of crazy comebacks is almost over…hopefully

LINKS▹▹
Mnet launching a music survival show called Teen Singer that will focus on young vocalists. I don’t like these types of shows, but I do get their appeal.
Super Junior will be releasing their first Japanese mini-album since 2013 at the end of January. I’m excited, as I tend to skew more to some of their Japanese releases. Also, yay more SuJu music!
Keeping up with their theme of picking up new Korean dramas set largely outside of Korea, Netflix will be airing Crash Landing On You. I had really no interest in this when it was announced, but now it’s a Wizard of Oz-type premise?
Monsta X released Find You ahead of their comeback this week, and it was such a good video and song. It combines everything I love with tying in their other music videos into the arch of the time travel storyline. Give me all the theatrics in kpop music videos, kids. I live for that stuff (as you can tell by my love of Dreamcatcher)
BABYMETAL, the Japanese rock group, has become the first Asian act to be #1 on the Billboard rock chart
The novel, Kim Jiyoung Born 1982 will have an English translation and be released in April. Preorders have already started. It’s hard to get translation on most books, and was afraid this one would be the same. I’m glad that I’ll be able to pick up a copy!
-CRUSH/Pink Sweat$ Collab
CRUSH and Pink Sweat$ will collab on a song that will be released at the end of the month. I don’t know much about Pink Sweat$ besides hearing Honesty a couple of times randomly, but he’s got a good voice, and listen to his Korean!
OCN put out a list of some of the content to look forward to in 2020. OCN will always be a fave, as they have the most concentration of dramas that I personally am into I just wish more places had them subbed legally.
Shiina Ring announced the release of her Best Of album in November which will contain some new tracks, including a collaboration with Utada Hikaru. Their last collab was on Utada Hikaru’s Fantome album in 2016 (and is really, really good).
I know this was already announced in the enlistments section, but G-Dragon is baaaaack!
